This a fan

copper wound - bore from another like it - a microwave this time - its fan

generate a small voltage by its self but its potential lies with slight changes

perhaps eventually co-opted into into a community's energy diet and sovereign practices

For now I gestate at it looking for the next step handed down by the cacophony of noise I sieve though

this was my fist experiment hacking a induction motor and turning it into a switched reluctance generator.
Electricity is a fundamental tool, necessary to engage in many of the connectivities of contemporary society.

However I’d like to broaden the meaning of electricity as David Holmgram puts it “Electricity is a very high quality form of energy that powers communications equipment, lighting, power tools and motors better than any other option, with zero pollution at the point of use” However, “Investing all our hopes and efforts into the basket of abundant, cheap, clean and reliable electricity makes no sense in energy decent futures.” There are other options that are not dependent on government and industry for our energy needs; such as wood energy, commonly thought of as an inefficient and pollution form, largely due to forest mismanagement and inefficient burning, burning in a rocket stove type system excess ground cover gathered by your household can simultaneously reduce the inefficient burn off by the council and be carbon positive.

(see Retro suburbia online: Chapter 6 wood energy and other solar energy revolutions)
Using Wood as a biofuel is more suited to living in a peri-urban or country landscape and not for insecure renters in built up suburbs and inner city. The flexibility of electricity in the cleanliness in its production and use means it can be used and generated potentially anywhere the wind blows.
There is potential also to build wind turbines and even battery storage from carefully recycling waste electronics.
That's why I’ve been experimenting with hacking induction motors to redesign them as wind turbines.
I have been following the incredible work of Robert Murry Smith a Chemist from England devoted to creating energy sovereignty through oral communication.

The direct form of communication found in instructional videos has an incredible ability to relay information that has real use in energy sovereignty, developing a relationality between experimenters across industrialised society.
